Works as advertised February 12, 2010 gamerguy (United States) I only have one HDMI input for my LCD TV and I put my PS3 and HD Cable box to this. It works great that even my wife knows how to work it (she hates technology). If you are watching TV and then decide to power up the PS3 for netflix...tada...the PS3 is now showing. No fiddling with switches or any of that nonsense. And when you turn the PS3 off....tada...back to HD cable TV - like magic. It's simple and simplicity speaks volumes. I like the fact that it came with an extra v1.3 HDMI cable since I didn't have one and the switch has a low profile. Highly recommend this product.
False advertising: Does not work with WII December 31, 2009 B. Fontane (TX USA) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Says it is for the Wii. But does not plug into wii. A wii does not have HDMI out.
This switch works fine October 26, 2009 Perry This is my setup:
My Olevia HDTV only has one HDMI input.
I wanted to connect my PC to the HDTV with a DVI/HDMI cable and
also a Panasonic DMP-BD605 Blu Ray player with a HDMI cable.
The solution:
I connected both to this Universal HDMI Quick Switch and then connected it to the HDTV and they both work fine. I can switch from my PC to my Blu Ray player without having to unplug any cables.
The automatic signal detector works as long as one of the devices is off. When both my PC and Blu-Ray players are turned on, I use the small button on the switch to manually switch the input.
Must have HDMI switch September 7, 2009 Michael Garst (key west, fl) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Cheap and great. I use it backwards in that it's connected to my HD AV unit and then I press the little button to switch between a TV in the day and a projector at night. No problems and no complaints.
UPDATE: I recently moved and wanted to use HDMI connections and discovered that the switch would not allow the two-way communications required for HDMI media. I.E. if you had a component device connected through the stereo it would output through the switch to the projector and TV, but if you were to connect a cable box via HDMI through the stereo the output would not go to the TV- it would work without the switch.
Since I lost that functionality, I have used the switch to give me an extra HDMI input on my device and it works just as expected. When no input is present it defaults to whichever is turned on regardless of the last state.
HDMI Game Switch March 13, 2009 Gregory R. Daro (New Jersey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This does the job.
I have a Scientific Atlanta converter box and PS3 connected to a Sony Bravia TV. One of the HDMI connectors on the TV broke and I bought this instead of having the TV fixed. When I turn the PS3 on, the TV switches to the PS3 even if the cable box is on. Shut off the PS3 and you are back to TV. It also has a switch to select an input, even with both on.
It comes with all the cables you need, they are somewhat stiff, so the box will not sit on top of anything. I have in hanging behind the TV. I can just reach under the TV and hit the button. The only time I need to use the button is when I am downloading on the PS3 and want to watch TV. The PS3 is the priority for the switch.
If it had a priority for the last device on and would sit better, I would give it 5 stars.
